An IP PBX is a software based PBX, that provides audio, video and instant
communication through the TCP/IP protocol for the internal network, and it
connects this internal network with the PSTN for telephony communication.
IP PBXs use VoIP technologies that converts the analog voice signal into
digital data packets, that can be transmitted over IP networks in contrast to
the traditional PBXs, which used the traditional phone networks.
